Day -27

While aimlessly wondering round Waitrose yesterday, I happened across the most wonderful idea – a cook book filled with all the delicious meals my friend’s have cooked for me over the years. Okay, so it’s not exactly the most original idea. But I thought it would be a lovely way to remind myself of my friends on the other side of the world while I slowly comfort eat myself to obesity. Or, more realistically, I could also use the shared recipes to make and impress new Australian friends.

In the coming days I’m going to start contacting those of you I know have made me great grub in the past. But if you have some well-loved recipe, please do not hesitate to send it over. In the mean time I’m going to start flicking through my new copy of Great British Food.

If you want a Short family meal I would suggest Maggie’s Macaroni Cheese Meat! It’s basically a meat bolognaise sauce, with macaroni cheese layered on top – a bit like a shepherd’s pie – and then a little more grated cheese put in the oven to go brown and crispy on top. yum! or you could go with a classic – Colin’s Cabbage & Potato Water Soup..?!
